Courtney B. Smith Design – Identity Project

23Aug09

When Courtney approached me to do the logo and identity for her new interior design business I was thrilled. Not only was she the first interior designer I’ve worked with but it also tied two of my favorite interests together: 2d graphics and interior design. Courtney described her style as “polished, approachable, colorful, livable, functional, a mix of traditional lines and modern materials” and wanted her logo and identity to convey these ideas. To begin the project Courtney supplied me with images from her portfolio and expressed her desire to incorporate a caning motif into the visuals (a texture she uses a lot in her work). Thus, the abstracted caning motif and fun color combo was born. Courtney, you were an absolute pleasure to work with and I wish you luck in developing your new business!
