Gracias to my father-in-law for my early Christmas present: a new Canon Rebel Tli! (and thank you to my husband for knowing I’d want it early so I can shoot at Art Basel Miami). I am so grateful and excited for my new toy.

I’ll admit, just after the initial excitement wore off, I was filled with a nagging
insecurity…performance anxiety. For over 6 years of my younger years, being
a photographer was all I wanted to do.

But, after 2 years in New York at the School of Visual Arts in their direct entry
photo program (for reasons that are too numerous to explain here) I put down
my camera to focus on Art History and Graphic Design. Now I’ve got a fantastic
new tool to begin again—this time, trading my film cameras for this new digital
baby. Thank you, thank you.
