WWII Photography
In edition to my closeted type-love, I’m also a bit of a history nerd and watch a lot of History Channel programing… I’ve been riveted by the series they are currently doing on WWII in HD. The most surprising thing is that most of the film clips are in color—when I didn’t even realize color [...]

File: A Magazine to Watch & Read
I love magazines from mainstream monthlies to the artsy and obscured. File magazine created by Fabio Sebastianelli and Thorbjørn Ankerstjerne based in London is one of the most interesting publications I’ve been introduced to in while. File covers all topics of visual communication including graphic design, art, photography, fashion and moving image. The 124 page publication is beautifully [...]

Photographer: Lyndon Wade
You may not know it, but you have probably already seen photographer Lyndon Wade’s work. America. 50 years ago—
Last week the 50th anniversary show for Robert Frank’s book, The Americans opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. All original images from the book are on view through January 3rd. Frank’s work, which often revealed the two opposing sides of American life— that of the “Dream” and that of reality—was quite groundbreaking at a [...]

Behind the Scenes: Fashion Week
For 6 of my younger years and during my time at the School of Visual Arts in New York, I wanted to be a photo journalist. Dave Yoder’s work is so inspiring. Check out his shots for the New York Times blog LENS from behind the scenes at the Fall fashion shows. I love when photographers approach [...]
